How to organize the space under the kitchen sink to make it as comfortable as possible

The kitchen is the real kingdom of the hostess. But here, most often, a problem awaits us: a lot of things need to be placed, but there are not always enough places for storage. Meanwhile, we often overlook hidden opportunities. For example, with the right approach, the space under the kitchen sink can be an excellent place to store the necessary little things.

Under the constructive gaze

“In the same place pipes occupy the whole place!” - you may be outraged. In fact, not all. And it is enough to organize here even a mini-pantry for the right things.

First of all, you need to evaluate the sink itself:

• big or small;
• rectangular or angular;
• is there a cabinet under it;
• how much space does the water treatment system take, if any.

All these points must be considered when choosing and arranging storage systems. So, a large one will allow you to place inside racks and organizers. In a small one, you can resort to some tricks, which will be discussed below. For corner sinks, the use of special rotating sections with shelves for storage is optimal.

Well, if there is no cabinet at all under the sink (there are also such budget options), then there is also a solution:

• order it in the workshop;
• do it yourself if you have the appropriate skills;
• curtain the space with a practical curtain (for example, such as for the bathroom - it does not get wet and is easy to clean).

Before you equip something under the sink, sort everything that you plan to store here, according to its purpose. For example, detergents separately, rags, sponges, brushes - separately, napkins, towels, potholders - separately, etc. Then you can easily pick up the right combinations of storage containers, and then quickly get exactly what you need now.

Organizer organizes

It really is. Organizers are called so because they help to organize a bunch of objects correctly. They are best used when the cabinet under the sink is large enough. How to choose them?

To measure the free area inside the pedestal is first of all. Everything that is not occupied by pipes, filters and urn is measured and recorded. With these measurements, you can go to the hardware store, where the assortment may include storage systems of different designs: metal, plastic, wood: those that need to be built in, or retractable.

They can be equipped with trays, baskets, containers, shelves, hooks ... Here the choice is in favor of a specific set of things intended for storage.

Do not store vegetables under the sink. This seems reasonable, but in fact the products here go bad very quickly. And if there are ventilation problems in the room, then all kinds of napkins and towels under the sink should be stored only in tightly closed containers.

Less space - more creativity

With small sinks is more difficult. So many things just will not fit there. But for such cases, there are many tricks that allow you to hide everything you need to hide from prying eyes.

The most important thing to keep in mind: replace all round and oval containers with square or rectangular ones. They are located as compactly as possible, saving precious centimeters of space. This also applies to the garbage container.

Here are some more tricks for small spaces:

• Roof rails. They can be placed before draining the entire width of the cabinet and hung on them, for example, detergents. If you equip such a bar with hooks, runners, there will be even more possibilities: you can hang brushes, brushes, oven mitts, kitchen scissors.



• Hooks They can be fixed in any convenient and free place. The essence is the same: we hang everything that can be hung.



• Clothespins. Ordinary household, for linen. If you fix them, for example, on the cabinet door, they will perfectly hold rubber gloves, leaflets with recipes that were written in haste, but it is a pity to lose them; packaging with cleaning rags, bags, etc.
• Shelves. When a full-fledged rack does not fit, you can place several compact shelves on the walls of the cabinet. They can have many little things.
• Retractable bottom. In addition to shelves, hooks and rods. Such a tray helps to immediately pull out all the contents of the lower part of the cabinet and get what is pushed back.



• Organizer with pockets. Even on the door of the cabinet, it will help to place a lot of kitchen stuff.

So, under the sink it is quite possible to find enough space for the practical organization of storage of the necessary accessories. The main thing is to distribute them correctly. Out of sight, but at hand - this is the motto of a rational housewife!
